Good performance, but just came up short!

Wrexham U8’s vs Ruthin U8’s

This week Wrexham U8’s welcomed our friends from Ruthin in the first encounter between the two teams this season. The weather was fine with no wind or rain for a change!

Wrexham were able to field a very healthy squad of 19 this morning and as has been customary this season, split into two teams.

Team A: Joseph, Tyler, Diego, Will, Iwan, Ella, Max, Daryn, Morgan

Wrexham seemed to be slow out of the blocks this morning with Ruthin scoring two quick tries. Wrexham soon got back into the game scoring some excellent tries themselves. But Ruthin always stayed that one step ahead of Wrexham on this occasion outscoring the hosts by 7 tries to 5. That being said, there were some excellent runs and scores from Wrexham with Daryn, Tyler and Diego running strong all game. On this occasion the man of the match award went to Tyler for some excellent strong running

.

Result: Wrexham 5 – Ruthin 7
Tries from Tyler(1) MOM, Diego(2), Will(1), Morgan(1)

Team B: Charlie, Rhys, Matty, Josh, Dan, Sam, Iwan, Gabrielle, Lewis, Ben

Again, this was a game that Ruthin led from the start and that remained the case. Although Wrexham were only 2 scores behind throughout, it was a lead that was never going to be breached. Again the final score line was 7-5 to Ruthin. There are many positives to take from this game with some excellent runs and tries from everybody in the team. Special mention to Josh, who continues his excellent form. But man of the match on this occasion goes to Iwan, who scored some brilliant individual tries.

Result: Wrexham 5 – Ruthin 7
Tries from Charlie(1), Josh(2), Iwan(2) MOM

In summing up, sometimes you just have to be honest and say we were beaten by the better team and this is one of those occasions. Ruthin have always been a well drilled and disciplined team. They have been, and continue to be our bogey team. Congratulations to the players and coaches from Ruthin for an excellent performance this morning.

Well done to Iwan and Tyler
