A tough encounter for the under 8s against a well organised under 8s Llandudno

Llandudno traveled to face the Under 8s at home in what would be a very close encounter.

Three games were played in total but several players made it on for at least 3 games due to the fact we were one man short.

Game 1

Team - Daryn, Charlie (1), Lewis, Rhys (2), Tyler, Gabrielle and Oliver.

A grueling first game with some excellent performances from everyone. The game started off with a quick and easy score to Llandudno but what followed was a gritty and determined fightback from a Under 8s team that were refusing to back down. Charlie opened the scoring with an excellent darting movement down the right hand side of the pitch.

Llandudno were relentless and Wrexham had to up their game substantially to ensure that they remained in the game. Daryn and Oliver were excellent in defence, along with some excellent support work from Lewis, Gabrielle and Tyler. This was a true team effort and the 3-3 scoreline was reflective of the hard work they carried out

Game 2
Team - Joseph, Morgan (3), Sam, Will (2), Ben (1), Diego - (Rolling Subs - Charlie, Rhys, Oliver, Lewis, Daryn)

The second game brought a much more impressive scoreline which in true reflected nothing of the game. It was in fact closer than the first in terms of action with Llandudno being just as effective as Wrexham in the game play area. However the difference was made through a man of the match performance by Morgan Jones, who due to his support and running lines was able to score a hat-trick of tries which along with two excellent tries from Will and a single try from Ben was enough to put the game out of reach for a Llandudno team who were unfortunate in their final attacks.

Game 3

Both previous teams returned for one half each

Again another close encounter with Llandudno prevailing. The 2nd team played first and after a gruelling 5 minutes of turnovers, knock ons and forward passed from both sides the score stayed at 1-0 to Llandudno. An eager first team however returned to the foray and were able to pull back two tries with the final try coming in the last play of the game with Rhys scoring both.

Overall - 11-9 to Wrexham

Thank you to our visiting team, the parents, Terry, Keith and Dave for the various acts they helped support during the morning.

Men of the match - Morgan Jones and Oliver Williams
