Our friends from Whitchurch crossed the border with a strong squad of 20 players. As Wrexham fielded an equally strong squad, it was a day when we could have played two matches at the same time. As it was, due to the requirement for only WRU licenced referees we were only able to player 1 match at a time.
The first match was a tough encounter with Wrexham having no answer to the pace and support of Whitchurch - we could learn a thing or two from this! Non the less, Wrexham played a good game with 7 tries of their own to be proud off against arguably Whitchurch' stronger team
The second game was dominated by Wrexham. Two man of the match performances by Charlie and Joseph due to their organisation and leadership we the main difference between the two teams.
Game 3 (5mins) was disappointing, with the Wrexham team not playing to their full potential - some tough words by coach Jeff at the final whistle will hopefully sink in before the next game.
Game 4 (5mins) was an even affair with Daniel and Diego getting on the score sheet.
A special mention should go to Rhys who made his Wrexham debut today. Rhys put in a solid performance with some excellent running. We all look forward to seeing what Rhys can achieve in the coming weeks, months and years.
