Wrexham U9 2nd February – Away against Whitchurch and Northwitch

Wrexham had their first game for several weeks after a few cancellations. Whitchurch hosted the games with Northwich joining Wrexham to make a mini tournament. The first game saw Wrexham take on Northwich. Northwich tackled well to cancel out many of the Wrexham attacks very early. Starting slowly, Wrexham were four tries down fairly quickly. Wrexham improved later in the game but could not recover the early deficit and lost 6 tries to 2.

The second game against Whitchurch was a closer contest. The scores remained close throughout the game with both side running well. Wrexham appeared to have a little more time and ran and supported better. The tackling again let the team down. In the end Whitchurch edged the fixture with a 7 tries to 6 victory.

Wrexham can improve on their performance this week. The tackling fell short of how they have been doing and they gave the ball away too many time.
