Big score away from home

Wrexham head coach Alan Jenkins believes he “couldn’t ask for more” following his sides 97-0 victory over a resilient Abergele.
The tries came thick and fast as Wrexham had too much for the very spirited hosts.
The resounding result means that Jenkins’ side continue to apply pressure in the race for promotion with only three games remaining.
Jenkins said; “I thought we were excellent, we showed no sign of complacency against a team that usually always make it tough.
We played some really good expansive rugby, getting a lot of joy out wide which was pleasing.”
“It was a great performance, I couldn’t ask for more.”
In glorious conditions on the North coast the visitors opened their account courtesy of Matt Whiteley, who after a break down the right, recurved the ball and powered over.
Bailey Rae was next on the score sheet as the ball got shifted wide, he beat a couple of defenders before going over.
Jacob Hughes was the next to cross as some smart work from him down the right allowed him to cross.
Rae soon had his second has some strong running off his wing meant he beat a couple of tackles and dotted down.
Nick Dodd then went underneath the sticks after a nice line allowed him to edge past the last defender and go in from near halfway.
Fly-half Sam Rogers then scored a fantastic individual try, picking the ball up from a scrum inside his own 22, he ran the length before weaving past a defender to cross in the corner.
He had his second not long after as after a well set maul, marshalled well all day by the experienced Rob Moore, the ball was passed wide and Rogers was in again.
His halfback partner Owen Weston was next to go over as some good interplay between himself and Rae allowed him to dot down underneath the posts.
Hughes then got his second after some patient play by the visitors created space out wide and the in-form centre walked it in to make it 62-0 at the break.
Jack Ratcliffe got the first score of the second half with a very good finish. With little room to work with he managed to beat two defenders on the outside and dot down.
Jack Harrison got the next, after some good pick and go work from the forwards, the ball was given width and Rogers put it on a plate for Harrison to cross.
Scott Leckie got over courtesy of a move straight from the training ground, an inside ball off the back of a line out let the winger crash over.
Rae then completed his hat-trick as he beat his opposite man and ran it in from near halfway.
Rogers then got his third of the day as he spotted a gap between two defenders and powered over.
Leckie then got his second and the final score of the afternoon as the ball was shifted wide and the winger went over untouched. Hughes converted to finish an excellent kicking display, racking up a 32 point.
Next up for Wrexham is Llanidloes at home next weekend for the last game of the season, which is set to be a great day at the club.
