Dear Members, Players, Parents, Coaches and all those involved with our club,
Believe it or not we are nearly a quarter of the way through the season already!
Some of you may be aware there were some changes to the management board of the club. We have had a shuffle around of roles and responsibilities as well as welcoming some new members. Since the new board has been in place, we have been working hard behind the scenes to progress some of the issues raised by members following the SurveyMonkey we undertook in the summer.
There were two very clear messages to come out of the survey.
Firstly, you told us that we don’t communicate well enough with you. Over the last few months we have been trying to improve this. You may have noticed that our Pitchero web site has had a re-vamp. We have also been working hard on improving communication through social media sites such as Facebook & Twitter. This is work in progress and we would welcome any feedback on how you think we are doing so far.
The other point that the survey raised was you as members wanted to know what you get for your membership fees.
I’m sure that most of you will realise that there are obvious ongoing costs that the club must pay. These include things such as: after match food, grounds maintenance, cleaning, equipment etc., but there are other costs that perhaps we don’t see as obvious such as utility bills, refuse collection, insurance, rates, maintenance & repairs to name a few.
The following is breakdown of club expenditure over typical year. We also need to remember that our season lasts around 8 months, but some of our bills need to be paid throughout the year.

We have also taken our calculations one step further and worked out, just how much it costs per member. I’m sure some of you will be surprised to learn that for one season it costs £226.15p for every member. Our current membership fee is £80.00 per year which equates to roughly 40% of the annual income required to keep our club afloat. The remainder of revenue is generated by bar, kitchen & shop sales along with fundraising events.
We are constantly striving to reduce our overheads as the more money we save, the more money we have available to improve our facilities.
I can’t stress enough just how important it is that we all work together to continue to make our club as successful as possible.
